This was amusing.
I’ve been told probably 8 or 9 different times by both people I know and random people I meet that I look like Jim Halpert from “The Office”.
Well, my good friend Shiloh decided to prove the point.

I got a pretty sweet Kodak Zi6 HD video camera for my birthday a few weeks ago. I finally upgraded the memory card and have decided to start throwing some of these vids online. Here are some new ones from today:
Scream:
Chicken Nugget
Donuts
Pixie Stick
Sniff-popping bubbles
A very cool article by Fast Company highlights architect Adam Kilkin’s shipping container designs. Rooms are constructed using shipping containers that can be combined to make larger homes. The cost is a lot lower and the impact to the environment is much smaller.

All of the functional benefits aside, I think the design is exciting and interesting. I’d live in one of these without even thinking about it. Here is a link to a gallery of work Kilkin has done with container architecture.

I was on a conference call this morning and just started randomly jotting down the various acronyms I have to use at work. I stopped after the conference call and came up with 116. Some of them are completely obvious… some of them have multiple meanings (so they’re listed multiple times). I’m sure as soon as this gets published I’ll think of more.
Favorite one is BANANA and LOL does not mean “laugh out loud”.

For whatever reason, people like bear skin rugs. Those people will also probably like this sleeping bag that looks like a bear. I think if you could blend this thing with the Lippi Selk, you could not only avoid bears, but you could hang out with them as well if you really wanted to. (I highly recommend clicking the link… funny pictures).
Not sure why I like sleeping bags so much. The Lippi Selk is still probably my favorite.
I wrote a post on Fiction Family a little while back. They’re good.
They also have a blog and there’s a new post of a bunch of tour pictures by Andy Barron. I highly recommend looking through them because they’re also good.

Ok, if you know me at all, you know I have a strong dislike for Microsoft and their products. I’m sure the people are great… I realize we use their stuff for almost everything… but they’re dumb.
Bill Gates recently addressed a bunch of technology, business and entertainment folks at the TED conference. He was speaking on Malaria and it’s impact in the world and, as an illustration, opened a jar of mosquitos and let them loose in the auditorium. Excellent way to communicate your point, Mr. Gates! (I’m serious. I think it was awesome).
But I also think it had numerous parallels to Microsoft products:
1. They’re buggy
2. They’re annoying
3. They suck your blood through over-priced products and market minipulation
4. They come out of a jar with no respect to the outside world
5. Doesn’t matter how much you don’t like them or how much they sting you… they will be around forever. everywhere. always.
I love my brother for a lot of reasons. One is that he sent me this video of a 7-year old a little drugged up after going to the dentist.
Every once in a while, something comes along that is completely awesome. This is one of those things.
It’s an anti-theft lunchbag that gives potential thieves the impression your sandwich is moldy. You wouldn’t think someone in a corporate environment would steal someone else’s food, but it definitely happens. TRUST ME.
